Warm, Caring Tutor Who Will Help You Feel Great About Learning
It is a joy for me to work with motivated people of all ages and all walks of Life. When I see that AHA! look on a student's face, I get as much pleasure from it as the student does! Whether I am teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to people from other countries, Spanish to English speaking students, or citizenship/naturalization preparation skills, the main goal is to help them feel the thrill of success. A large part of what I do with my students is to help them learn how to appr...

When a student is having trouble with a subject, or perhaps several, it can lead to feelings of overwhelm and low self-esteem. Then a downward spiral can begin, and the student loses hope. Many times it is a matter of improving the student's approach of HOW to study the subject, how to budget time, and very importantly beginning to BELIEVE that it is possible to learn the subject. I use my coaching skills to help the student regain a sense of personal power and personal responsibility toward the school work. Bit by bit, we build on small successes, and when the student sees that is IS possible to make a positive change in the outcome, we are on our way! Each student is different, and I work with each one to find the best methods for study and subject mastery. There is nothing better than to see the smile on the face of a student who previously was looking sad or angry about school. Yes, it is possible!

Our son hated Spanish and did very poorly last school year. We hired Gail to help him out over the summer, and she exceeded our expectations. Not only was she knowledgeable about Spanish, but she was also able to help our son gain new confidence and believe in his ability to learn the subject. It's still early in the new school year, but our son's Spanish teacher said she's impressed with his improved proficiency and attitude. Thanks, Gail!

Gail P. is a wonderful tutor. She helped my son dramatically improve his grade in High School Spanish II from a 70 in the 1st quarter to a 85 in the second quarter. My son struggled in Spanish for over two years with barely passing grades. He was completed frustrated and was at the point of giving up on the subject. In a couple of months, Gail gave my son the skills and more importantly the confidence he needed succeed in Spanish.

I hired Gail for my mother, who is 64 years old. We took 20 lessons over the summer (as a jump start) and then in 2 months an additional 8 lessons right before the exam. That was enough for my mom, who had a almost noâ€speaking†English, to be able to communicate with the Immigration officer and here we go – she is a U.S. Citizen now!!! Many thanks to Gail!

I hired Gail to help my 71 year old mom with her US Citizenship test preparation. Thanks to Gail's patience, humor, encouragement, great listening skills and detailed feedback on areas to put more effort in (at times critical but necessary), my mom is a US citizen today. Thanks so much Gail!!!

Gail was very up beat, warm and right on. She quickly picked up where my son was having trouble. I'm sure with some guide-lines from his school Spanish teacher she will help him make some important progress!

So Happy with Gail P. She is kind, understanding and LISTENS to parent and student. Makes the session fun and my son would not have passed junior year Spanish without her. Very happy and would use her again!

Gail has been a great tutor! She returned all emails and calls promptly. Gail came to the lessons prepared and was able to teach the material in a way that my son could understand. I would highly recommend Gail -- Brett (The one who was tutored) I had a great experience with Gail. I only took Latin in High-school and was preparing for college where many of the students would have taken spanish despite it being spanish-101, After only nine lessons we finished an entire book, I knew hundreds words including a list of the 100 most common verbs, I could decline a verb in multiple tenses, I knew the difference between soy and estar, and was having simple conversations about family, places, and occupations. I don't think it could have gone any better. Gail was a fantastic tutor and I would recommend to everyone.

My daughter loves Gail. She probably doesn't need much help but gains confidence from Gail. She is the one who asks for the tutoring sessions.
